I work for a massive energy company and very rarely had inflation or above except when there have been market adjustments….its the same all over…not that I have anything to complain about salary wise….if I was on 20k a year I'd be out with them.

Yep. I’ve been a doctor for over 25 years. I don’t claim to be badly paid (though I was at first) but every year the ‘independent’ DDRB recommends a below inflation award, and half the time the government doesn’t even give us that. Real terms pay has been eroded 20% in 10 years.

Naturally, Sunak wants to remove this one thing by making it illegal for key workers to strike. Meaning there will be absolutely nothing these people can do about government exploitation, other than leave their profession or the country.

As James O’Brien pointed out, anyone in the public sector who is striking is using the only tool they have available to improve their Ts & Cs, which is the withdrawal of their labour. It isn’t meant to be convenient, it’s meant to show what they do is important.
